Q.
Do you offer consultations?
A.

Consultation appointments are available free of charge.  Consultations can help identify a variety of treatment options.  You are under no obligation to have any treatments following a consultation. I encourage people to take some time to consider their options before undergoing any treatment. There may be occasions where you can have your consultation and treatment on the same day, this will be based on the individual and the treatment required.

Q.
How does Wrinkle Prevention work?
A.

When injected into a muscle, Botulinum Toxin (Botox®) blocks nerve signals to temporarily relax the muscle. Dynamic wrinkles are prevented from forming because the nerve impulses are stopped and the muscle is temporarily unable to contract. This makes the skin appear more youthful, softer, and smoother.

Q.
Are the injections painful?
A.

This varies depending on each individual. Needles used during the Dermal Filler and Wrinkle Prevention treatments are very fine and are generally well tolerated. Numbing cream is available prior to treatment and helpful tools can be used to aid pain management if needed. Feel free to bring a friend for support if you like, or use headphones during the procedure. Anything that helps make you feel comfortable will likely be accommodated.

Q.
Do you offer skin treatments?
A.

Skin treatments are offered in the clinic. Microneedling and Polynucleotide treatments are a great way to improve overall skin health.  In addition, I am also a distributor for the Epionce skincare range to help you to care for your skin at home.

Q.
How long does Botox® last?
A.

After the initial treatment, it can take 2 to 14 days before the full results are visible. The cosmetic results normally last between three and four months but might continue for up to six months.  A 2 week review will be carried out to evaluate effectiveness of initial treatment. If required, a small top up dose may be offered. The effects will begin to gradually begin to wear off around 8 weeks post initial treatment. Most people will decide to need to get further treatment when their wrinkles return. It is not advisable to have another treatment within 12 weeks, as this can result in resistance.  However, regular treatments will help the longevity of the effects.

Q.
Are there any side effects?
A.

Most treatments have very few adverse effects. Occasionally, people report a little localised discomfort and tenderness following injections. There may be some slight swelling at the injection site, but this normally goes away within 48 hours. Additionally, a little bleeding or minor bruising is possible following any injectable treatment. All side effects specific to your chosen treatment, will be discussed at your appointment.

Q.
What After Care Advice Should I Follow?
A.

Avoid rubbing or touching injected areas to minimise risk of infection. Make up can be applied within 4-6 hours, however, the longer you can go without, the better. You should avoid having facials, skin peels and massage for 48 hours this is to reduce the potential for infection and irritation at the site of injection. Avoid vigorous exercise and alcohol-based products for 48hours as this can increase possibility of bruising. If bruising does develop, you can apply Arnica cream and Paracetamol can be taken for mild pain post procedure if required. Please avoid any anti-inflammatory medications as these will increase the risk of bruising.
